Recently an international Christian charity has donated £10,000 to help children and their families here in Devon cope with the difficulties of home schooling at this time. Caring for families is the prime objective of Mothers’ Union, so providing electronic devices seemed to be an effective way of achieving this. Ten schools from around Devon, chosen by the members of Mothers’ Union in the Exeter Diocese, each received £1,000 to be used to maximise learning support for pupils. By helping both the families and schools involved, Mothers’ Union hopes that this comparatively small gesture will have a significantly big effect on all the lives touched.
Comments from some of the schools:
“As a result of your incredible generosity…….we have seen a marked difference in the quality of the children’s work”.
“The devices have proved fundamental in ‘taking the classroom to their homes’”.
“The dedication and care shown by Mothers’ Union has enabled children to access our full offer of remote learning – we cannot thank MU enough”
“This generous offer came at a time when staff felt quite overwhelmed by the tasks ahead, and help from Mothers’ Union lifted our spirits enormously”.
