Oscar-winning actor and co-host of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg, is expanding her literary footprint by launching a new book imprint, WhoopInk.
Partnering with Blackstone Publishing, the venture aims to cultivate “fresh, diverse new talent to the marketplace” across various genres.
Goldberg, who has authored over a dozen books herself, will be “intimately involved” in every aspect of the imprint, from cover design to promotional strategies, according to Blackstone.
Among the first authors to be published under WhoopInk is Rick Bleiweiss, a Blackstone executive who previously signed Goldberg’s memoir, “Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me.”

WhoopInk plans to release the next installment in Bleiweiss’s “Pignon Scorbion & the Barbershop Detectives” mystery series.
Goldberg also intends to publish some of her own upcoming works through the imprint, including a sequel to her bestselling memoir, which is set for paperback release this week.
“I am personally looking forward to finding new authors, working with established authors, and bringing influential voices into this curated imprint,” Goldberg stated on Monday.
This move places Goldberg among a growing number of public figures, such as Sarah Jessica Parker, John Legend, and Questlove, who have established their own publishing imprints, while others like Reese Witherspoon, Dakota Johnson, and Dua Lipa have opted for book clubs.
