Novak Djokovic is feeling good ahead of the Australian Open despite a lack of competitive action in recent months.
He spoke to reporters after beating Frances Tiafoe in an exhibition match at the Rod Laver Arena this morning.
“I’m trying to get some match play,a great opportunity for us to get out on the centre court and kind of feel the environment,” he said.
“Nerves at 30-30 second serve, made some double faults there, but it is good. It is good to get the rust off.
“I haven’t played any matches since the beginning of November, so it has been a while.
“I haven’t played any lead up tournaments to the Australian Open so it was great to get a couple of sets today.”
