Manchester United are said to be considering a €60million (£51m) bid for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery. Old Trafford bosses first explored the possibility of signing the player back in 2023 when he was just 17, and he now appears to be on their radar as a potential third midfield acquisition this summer.
Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have already arrived for a combined £85m, with AS Roma’s Manu Kone and Bournemouth’s Alex Scott emerging as further targets. With the likes of Sandro Tonali, Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes commanding sizeable transfer fees, United will almost certainly need to splash the cash to secure another signing, though Zaire-Emery could prove to be the answer.
The 20-year-old has found himself on the periphery at PSG, which may work in United’s favour when negotiating a deal. According to French outlet Top Mercato, he is held in high esteem at the club, to the extent that a €60million (£51m) approach is being ‘prepared’ to test PSG’s willingness to sell.
The report further states that the European champions place his value at closer to €80m (£68m). Zaire-Emery made 54 appearances during the 2025/26 season before adding 109 minutes of World Cup football for France.
Whether Zaire-Emery would entertain the prospect of leaving the French capital remains uncertain, having featured so prominently in both midfield and at right-back. However, injuries to Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi provided him with additional playing time, but Luis Enrique returned him to the substitutes’ bench once those players regained fitness and for PSG’s most crucial fixtures.
Forwards have also been examined by those at United, with Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and Crysencio Summerville emerging as potential acquisitions.The latter appeared destined for a switch to AS Roma but has instead chosen to join Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal following their remarkable €80m (£68m) offer being accepted.
United’s interest in the Dutch winger had diminished in recent weeks, with any transfer dependent upon Marcus Rashford’s future. He appears set to remain at his boyhood club, with Barcelona having completed permanent deals for Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.
United begin their 2026/27 season away to newly-promoted Hull City. Their pre-season preparations have already commenced, with Rashford potentially appearing in one or two friendlies once he returns from his compulsory post-World Cup break.
