Max Verstappen coasted to another F1 win in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Saturday, with Sergio Perez crossing the line in second to secure back-to-back Red Bull one-two finishes. It’s been a perfect start to the 2024 season on the track, but the Christian Horner whirlwind away from the paddock is refusing to go away.
Verstappen’s future at Red Bull seems more secure after advisor Helmut Marko confirmed he would be staying with the team.
However, the three-time world champion’s father, Jos, has added an extra angle to the Horner saga by publicly blasting the Red Bull team principal twice.
The Dutchman’s explosive talks with Horner at the Bahrain Grand Prix reportedly ended in a truce, but he was expected to stay clear of the F1 paddock in the aftermath.
But Verstappen Sr. is set to return at the Australian Grand Prix, where he will undoubtedly be pursued for more comments on the current controversy at Red Bull.
While Verstappen dominates in the RB20, he also has to act as a peacekeeper to prevent the team from imploding.
Express Sport provides all the latest news from Red Bull and across the paddock following race two.
