Kate’s husband Derek Draper, also 55, was left fighting for his life after contracting Covid in 2020.
Derek has since faced many health battles including sepsis.
Earlier this month, Kate offered hope as she shared a rare image of Derek smiling at home.
Yet fans were quick to flock and offer their support after the mum of two uploaded a snap showing yellow crocuses growing in her garden.
Alongside the image Kate wrote: “So this is why I love nature & gardening so much – after a tricky 48 hours of feeling like am trudging up hill on ice my first crocus bursts up – the spirit of life & hope in gorgeous yellow form!!”
After tagging her Smooth Radio shows she added the hashtags: “#lovenature #hope #love.”
One fan was quick to write: “Oh bless you, it’s so tough for you, I can only imagine, stay strong, x”
A second put: “Spring flowers definitely give hope. Sending hugs for your difficult time. Xx”
A third then wrote: “Sending you love Kate hope things start to improve for you this year xxx”
One injected more positivity as they added: “There’s always hope Kate ”
Recently, Kate was clearly emotional as she grilled ex Secretary of State for Health Matt Hancock MP about his non-adherence to social distancing rules – which happened when Derek was fighting for his life in hospital.
The Sun exposed Matt Hancock’s breach of his own coronavirus rules, when he conducted an affair with Gina Coladangelo in his ministerial office.
Derek became the nation’s longest suffering Covid patient following 13 months in hospital after contracting the illness in 2020.
Yet recently she offered fans the chance to smile with a happy snap of former political lobbyist Derek.
He requires round the clock care at their London home after nearly dying from coronavirus complications.
In the picture, Derek is sitting up in bed smiling as carer Jake holds his hand.
Kate wrote on Instagram: “Many of you will remember Jake who cared for Derek when he first came out of hospital in April 21 – from the documentary #caringforderek, so you will know what a wonderful healthcare professional he is.
“But have just found out he’s also an amazing musician – under the name @sencymiller.x – He’s just released a song called #okukuseku (check it out in his bio) – which no surprise is full of love & inspiration to keep going & never give up.
“The world of carers never fails to surprise me with their depths of talent, thoughtfulness and motivation #happyfriday all!”
Kate revealed she secretly flew Derek to North America for a ground-breaking medical trial in November.
The GMB star pursued the trip when a world renowned US doctor contacted her after seeing Derek’s plight on TV.
