“We took over the Castlebrook Inn on the 2nd March 2020 and were open for just under 2 weeks before the 1st lockdown. During the first lockdown we ran a shop in the restaurant area and offered takeaway food and drinks to takeaway or for delivery throughout all 3 lockdowns.
We found out just before Christmas that we had been nominated for the South West England Prestige Awards – Traditional Pub of the Year. Then in the new year we found out that we had won. Last Thursday (10th June) we attended a photoshoot and awards presentation ceremony at The Escot Estate outside Exeter. We have received our certificate and are just awaiting delivery of our engraved trophy.”
