East Cornwall Search and Rescue Team is a local charity based in Bodmin, Cornwall and is made up entirely of volunteers who provide an inland search and rescue service across the East Cornwall area and purely depends on public funding to operate.
Covering rural areas from Goss Moor to Bodmin Moor, it also responds to incidents in more urban and semi-rural areas from St Austell to Bude and operates in other areas across the South West and further afield to aid other teams as required.
A five-hundred-pound donation has been provided to ECSRT by member of The Earl of Saint Germans Lodge, based in Wadebridge. The lodge is home to the Widow Sons, who are a group of freemasons with special interest in all things motorcycle related.
The cheque was presented was carried out at Kit Hill, Callington by the Worshipful Master of the lodge, Graham Holtum and was accepted by Mike Eslick, member and driver at East Cornwall Search and Rescue. Zack Brewer, Team Leader at ECSRT gave a full kit demonstration to the Freemasons of Cornwall and thanked them for their generous donation that will prove vital in continuing their work throughout East Cornwall since COVID-19 has restricted their funding efforts.
