Rajasthan Royals have released Steve Smith ahead of IPL 2021, with all the eight franchises set to soon announce the list of players they have retained ahead of the next auction, scheduled to be held next month. Ahead of the retention, Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter to announce that his contract with the three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings has ended. News agency ANI reported that CSK have retained their star all-rounder Suresh Raina while the likes of Kedar Jadhav and Piyush Chawla are set to be left out. Both Jadhav and Chawla failed in the 13th edition of the T20 tournament, which was held in the United Arab Emirates due to the coronavirus pandemic.
