TATE ST IVES
Tate St Ives announces 2022 exhibitions and events highlights including a retrospective of Barbara Hepworth bringing together some of most important works, and with a special focus on her life in Cornwall For the first time at Tate St Ives, the exhibition is staged across both the award-winning top-lit gallery in the new building and the spectacular sea-facing gallery in the original building. Yang has transformed these two spaces into an open-ended exploration of geometry, abstraction and the aftermath of modernism.

Petrit Halilaj: Very volcanic over this green feather Last chance! Closes 16 January 2022
Only a few days left to see this moving and highly acclaimed exhibition by artist Petrit Halilaj who has revisited childhood drawings created aged 13 while in an Albanian refugee camp during the Kosovan war (1998-9) for a powerful brand-new installation at Tate St Ives. The images are magnified and rearranged as monumental hanging cut-outs in the gallery, combining poignant images of imaginary landscapes and animals, with scenes of war.
Thao Nguyen Phan 5 February — 2 May 2022
Artist Thao Nguyen Phan lives and works in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This exhibition intertwines folklore and myth with urgent issues around the environment and food security, reflecting on the Mekong River. The artworks consist of videos, silk paintings and mixed media with a brand-new film and series of paintings will be specially created for Tate St Ives.
Ad Minolti
28 May — 30 October 2022
In May artist Ad Minoliti’s exhibition will present alternative universes influenced by feminist and queer thought. The exhibition will also feature Minoliti’s ongoing project The Feminist School of Painting, transforming part of the gallery space into an active classroom.
Barbara Hepworth: Art and Life

The exhibition Barbara Hepworth: Art and Life will come to St Ives in November 2022. At Tate St Ives, it will have a special focus on Hepworth’s life in Cornwall, bringing together many of her most important works. Combined with the nearby Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, this will be an unprecedented opportunity to explore the life and work of one of the greatest sculptors of the 20th century.

Tate St Ives’s collection displays focus on a key artist associated with St Ives and West Cornwall: Alfred Wallis, Marlow Moss, Barbara Hepworth, Partou Zia and Bob Law. These artists’ works are presented in dialogue with work by other 20th and 21st century artists from West Cornwall and around the world.
Artist Rooms: Sol LeWitt
Until 26 March 2022, Gallery 8 Sol LeWitt (1928-2007) revolutionised art in the 1960s and this colourful paint installation by the American conceptual artist Sol LeWitt has been adapted for Tate St Ives to work with the complex architecture of the sea-facing gallery. See it now in this special space overlooking St Ives bay.
Adam James: KEMENETH
Experience Adam James special artist’s commission KEMENETH at Tate St Ives and around St Ives. Adam James is a British artist whose work brings people together.
KEMENETH — the Cornish word for community — is an artist’s project developed by James, in collaboration with St Ives communities and Tate. Using a smartphone app, outdoor public spaces around St Ives are brought to life with a immersive sculptures.
