Britney Spears’ former partner Kevin Federline is reportedly in significant credit card debt now that the pop superstar has stopped paying child support.
Spears, 44, and Federline, 48, were a couple for about three years: meeting in the summer of 2004, marrying in September 2004, and finalizing their divorce in July 2007.
They share two sons, Sean Preston, who was born in 2005, and Jayden James, who was born in 2006.
According to court documents obtained by People, Federline opened an account with City National Bank in November 2024, around the time Spears would have stopped paying him child support.
He reportedly now owes the bank $117,704.77 for a credit card, a personal line of credit and a personal overdraft line.

The Independent has approached Federline’s lawyer for comment.
When the couple first divorced, Spears was reportedly paying Federline around $20,000 a month in child support.
Around 2017 that figure doubled to $40,000 per month, when Federline’s custodial time increased. It dropped when Sean Preston turned 18 in 2023.
In his 2025 memoir You Thought You Knew, Federline wrote that “the money was gone almost” immediately each month, and that the payments “didn’t stretch as far as” people might assume.
He claimed the two boys needed security that “came with a price tag that would make anyone’s head spin,” and he denied being “some bum just sitting around waiting for a check.”
After the publication of the book, Spears spoke out about what she called “constant gaslighting.”

Federline had claimed in the memoir that Spears would sometimes watch their then-teenage sons sleep with a knife in her hand.
In response, the “Toxic” singer’s representative decried Federline’s narrative as “sensationalism” in a statement to The Independent at the time.
On social media, Spears added: “The constant gaslighting from ex-husband [sic] is extremely hurtful and exhausting.”
She continued: ““I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys. Relationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life. Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by their own father for me.”
“They need to take responsibility for themselves. With one son only seeing me for 45 min in the past 5 years and the other with only 4 visits in the past 5 years. I have pride too. From now on I will let them know when I am available,” she wrote.
