The Celebrity Traitors betrayals have started already – two contestants are complaining about the headshots that are being used to promote the show.
Upon seeing the image that’ll be used of him, comedian Rob Beckett said he thinks “there’s a traitor in the photoshop department”, asking: “What the f*** has happened to my face?”
His wife and Parenting Hell co-host, Lou, joked that she’s using AI “to replace you in every photo in the house with this one”.
Beckett’s Traitors co-star, Love Island presenter Maya Jama, also voiced her disapproval of the BBC’s chosen image, commenting: “They did us all dirty tbh.”
Last week, comedian Joanne McNally questioned her exclusion from the show’s trailers, asking in an Instagram post: “I’m starting to think I wasn’t actually in @ukthetraitors at all and it was all a fever dream!”
She added: “Every single time there’s a trailer released for the Celebrity Traitors – which starts on October 1 – I’m like, ‘Oh, it’s so exciting’ and I press play. It’s the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my career; it’s so exciting.
“And every time I’m not in any of them. I’m like, OK, that’s cool. I’m sure it’s fine. Probably, maybe they’re like, she makes such an impact on the show that we don’t want to oversaturate her at this stage. I’m sure it’s fine.”
Also appearing on the series this year are comedians Joe Lycett, Romesh Ranganathan and Miranda Hart.

There are several actors on the billing, including The Last of Us’s Bella Ramsey, The Damned United’s Michael Sheen, and Withnail and I’s Richard E Grant. Myha’la (Industry), Sharon Rooney (Two Doors Down), former Coronation Street and EastEnders stars Julie Hesmondhalgh, and Ross Kemp will feature as well.
Musicians including former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock and “You’re Beautiful” singer James Blunt will also enter the Scottish castle, alongside broadcaster Amol Rajan, presenter Jama, model and actor Jerry Hall, musician and actor Sebastian Croft and content creator King Kenny.
Meanwhile, the series will have a contestant unlike any before, with mathematician Professor Hannah Fry bringing her statistical expertise to the game in a bid to sniff out the suspicious contestants.
Claudia Winkleman will be back to host the smash-hit show’s second season on 1 October at 8pm.
The multi-award-winning game of deception will air two nights a week on Thursday and Friday evenings.
