All you need to know about how to watch England vs Norway

  • TV channel: The quarter-final will be broadcast live on ITV for viewers in the UK. It is the commercial broadcaster’s turn after the BBC aired England’s dramatic last-16 win over Mexico.
  • Pundits and commentators: ITV’s first-choice line-up will be on duty for the big game. Presenter Mark Pougatch will be joined by the punditry panel of Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ian Wright. As usual for England games on the channel, lead commentator Sam Matterface will be accompanied by Lee Dixon.
  • BBC arrangement: For major tournaments, UK TV rights are split between the BBC and ITV under a traditional terrestrial sharing agreement. The BBC showed the Ghana, DR Congo and Mexico games, while ITV aired the Croatia and Panama fixtures.
  • Huge audience: England’s dramatic win over Mexico in the early hours of Monday drew a peak of 9.1 million viewers on the BBC. Despite the kick-off being pushed back from 1am to 2am BST, the match attracted an average audience of 7.8m across BBC One and iPlayer. With the Norway game kicking off at a far more convenient hour for UK viewers, the live audience could potentially double that figure.
  • Kick-off time: The match is scheduled to get underway at 10pm on Saturday, July 11, with ITV’s coverage beginning at 8.45pm. The game will be held at Miami Stadium, which has a capacity of approximately 65,000.
  • Streaming: The match will be accessible through the ITVX platform. This digital service enables anyone holding a valid TV licence in the UK to view the live broadcast via a standard internet browser or mobile device. The ITVX app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
  • BBC coverage: While it will not be broadcasting the live television feed on this occasion, the BBC will still deliver comprehensive secondary coverage across its platforms. After the final whistle, the broadcaster will launch an immediate post-match reaction programme featuring their pundits on iPlayer and the BBC Football YouTube channel.
  • Radio coverage: For those unable to access a screen, BBC Radio 5 Live and talkSPORT will deliver full live commentary from Miami. Build-up across both stations will take place throughout the day.
  • Semi-final choice: The BBC will have first selection of the semi-finals and will opt for England should Thomas Tuchel’s side successfully overcome Norway. That fixture would be the second semi-final on Wednesday, July 15 in Atlanta.
