Jake Paul‘s fiancee Jutta Leerdam has been slammed for travelling to the Winter Olympics on a luxury private jet. Leerdam is a successful speed skater and won silver at the last Games in Beijing four years ago. She is set to represent the Netherlands at this year’s event but decided against travelling with the rest of her team.
Instead, the 27-year-old chose to fly to Milan on her own private jet. She posted a series of snaps and videos of her flight on Instagram, showing off personalised bunting and cupcakes, a TV with her image on and a posh meal. Under the post, Paul commented: “Time to shine.”
Johan Lerksen, a former footballer turned TV pundit, was unhappy with Leerdam’s mode of transportation and labelled her a ‘diva’ for refusing to travel with the rest of the Dutch squad.
He fumed: “She should want it of her own accord. She’s already living like a millionaire, with private jets and everything. Her behaviour is horrible to me, like that of a diva.
“If I were her coach, I wouldn’t tolerate that. Gradually, the whole of the Netherlands is starting to get a bit fed up with her behaviour.”
Leerdam is set to compete in the women’s 1000-metre speed skating event next Monday. She will also take part in the 500-metre event later in the Games.
Her dream of making the cut in the 1000-metre race was nearly ruined when she crashed out of the qualifying race in December.
However, selection bosses opted to give her the final spot regardless after she impressed in the 500-metre contest.
At the time, Leerdam wrote on social media: “See you in Milan for the 500 and 1000m!!! After my fall in the 1000m, I refocused, bounced back and qualified for the 500m.
“Only nine Dutch women in total can qualify for the Games. I was one of the nine through my 500m. With one spot on the 1000m still available, the KNSB decided to add me to the 1000m!
“What makes me happiest is that this decision doesn’t affect any other woman in the process. So grateful that everything worked out.”
Leerdam has been dating YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul since 2023 and they got engaged last year, celebrating in the Caribbean island of St Lucia. Reports have suggested that her giant diamond ring was valued at over £700,000.
