Emma Raducanu splits with coach as statement released after Australian Open dig

Emma Raducanu has parted ways with coach Francisco Roig following her Australian Open exit. The Brit spent six months with the former partner of Rafael Nadal and is now in search of her ninth permanent coach

“Francis, Thank you for our time together” she said. “You have been more than a coach to me and I will cherish the many good times we spent together on and off the court.

“While we have come to the conclusion together that we ought not to move forward, please know that I am very grateful for all you have taught me and fond of our time shared.”

Raducanu appeared to question her coach’s methods following her straight-sets defeat to world No. 55 Anastasia Potapova in Melbourne. She said: “I want to be playing a different way, I need to work on playing in a way more similar to how I was playing when I was younger.”
