Man Utd flop Jadon Sancho can secure dream reunion on one condition

Jadon Sancho has been told to slash his £300,000-a-week salary by half if he wishes to make a comeback at Borussia Dortmund. The German club is eager to welcome Sancho back for a third stint next summer. Sancho is on the hunt for a club that can help him rejuvenate his career, and he recognises that his most successful periods were at Dortmund. However, their management has made it clear that they cannot afford his current contract.

Gregor Kobel, who earns £150,000-a-week, is currently the highest-paid player at Dortmund. To secure a return to the Bundesliga team, Sancho would need to align with the club’s wage structure. Since transferring from Dortmund to Manchester United in 2021, Sancho’s career has taken a downward turn. The winger failed to impress and ultimately returned to Dortmund on loan in 2024 following a public disagreement with then-United manager Erik ten Hag.

During his time back at Dortmund, he helped them reach the Champions League final. Sancho spent the previous season on loan at Chelsea, who declined the option to make the move permanent last summer.

Currently on loan at Aston Villa, Sancho has struggled for playing time, making only four league appearances. He knows he may need to leave English football behind once again next summer, but it remains to be seen whether he is willing to lower his wage demands.

Sancho can depart United on a free transfer in June when his contract expires, and will be able to negotiate a signing-on fee with a new club. He can begin discussions with foreign interested clubs in January.

United’s hopes of signing Karim Adeyemi have also been dealt a blow, with the Borussia Dortmund forward reportedly favouring a move to Arsenal.

The Red Devils have been closely monitoring the German international, hoping to bring him to Old Trafford.

United chiefs have even reached out to Adeyemi’s agent, Jorge Mendes, about the possibility of striking a deal next summer.

However, United boss Amorim is now preparing to look elsewhere in his quest for a new striker.

Dortmund have set a £75million asking price for Adeyemi, a figure that exceeds what United were prepared to pay.

Adding insult to injury, Adeyemi has indicated that if he does leave Dortmund ahead of next season, he would prefer a move to Arsenal over United.

Adeyemi, 23, is contracted until 2027, but negotiations with Dortmund over a new deal have hit a roadblock, and he is open to finding a new club in the summer.
