Winners of the 2026 MTV Music Video Awards are currently being announced, recognizing excellence in pop, music and video production. This year’s awards show is hosted by Snoop Dogg at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.
Nominations are dominated this year by Madonna, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter.
Madonna is the artist with the most nominations, with 11 nods, including best artist, song of the year and best collaboration, for works from her latest album Confessions II. To date, she holds 19 competitive VMA trophies and was recognized in 1986 as the inaugural solo female recipient of the Video Vanguard Award.
So far at the ceremony, Lisa & Kentara Sakaguchi beat out Swift, Charli xcx, Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Carpenter and Tate McRae in the Best Pop category, with the song “Dream.”
Elsewhere tonight, Swift will accept the first Artist Director Honors, establishing her as the most decorated performer in the event’s history. Swift is currently tied with Beyoncé for the most wins at the VMAs overall, with 30 trophies each, while Eminem holds the male record with 15. The new prize will raise her total to 31.
Meanwhile, singers Raye, Sombr and Teddy Swims will perform a tribute to the late George Michael. Other performers include GENER8ION with Yung Lean, Shaboozey with Gunna as well as Lisa, Raye and Sienna Spiro.
Check back when the ceremony begins for the full list of winners.
