Love Island contestant quits villa for ‘private reasons’ just days after joining

Love Island contestant George Knight has abruptly departed the villa, citing “private reasons,” just days after his arrival as a bombshell.

The 28-year-old professional footballer from Winchester entered the ITV reality show on Tuesday’s episode.

He was tasked with a secret mission alongside fellow bombshell Yasmin Hadlow, 23, to dump two islanders within 24 hours.

An ITV spokesperson said: “For private reasons, George has left the Love Island villa.”

Bombshells are contestants who are brought into the villa after the series has begun.

On Tuesday’s show, Knight got to know his fellow contestants and spoke about his life and dating preferences.

He made a move on quantity surveyor Robyn Langton, 21, and asked if she wanted to share a bed with him in the hideaway.

Langton, who is currently coupled up with electrician Samuel Workman, 25, told him the move was “ballsy” and that she needed to think about it, before declining the offer.

The contestants later gathered around the firepit and played a game of truth or dare, which included kissing contestants they were not coupled up with, dance-offs, and calling out their fellow islanders with questions including “who is the biggest game player of the group?”.

The episode ended with Knight and Hadlow left to decide which boy and girl they would dump from the island.
