Pete Davidson is planning his exit from TV and film — thanks to a fast-growing sock brand

Pete Davidson has one foot out the door when it comes to acting, thanks in part to the growing success of sock brand Doublesoul, which he joined as an investor and creative director in December 2024.

The former Saturday Night Live star, 32, became a father the following December to daughter, Scottie Rose, with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt. He has since managed to step away from the spotlight.

“I’ve done everything I possibly can on my end, which means not having social media, barely going out. I’m not at f***ing 1OAK, or whatever,” Davidson told Vanity Fair in a new interview. “I don’t even know what a cool place is because I’ve never been to any of them.”

He added: “No one gives a f*** about movies or television or any of that s***. People just know I’m famous…they don’t know that I do stand-up, or that I’m an actor.

“I don’t want to be doing this forever,” he noted of his TV and film career. “It’s exhausting to be in the public eye all the time, mentally draining, and it occupies a lot of time and travel.”

Davidson last appeared on screen in September 2025 during the season 17 premiere of Shark Tank, the reality series that features budding entrepreneurs seeking investment from a panel of multimillionaires.

He was joined by Doublesoul co-founder Ben Rosenbaum, who pitched their brand as “the perfect everyday sock.” The company focuses on producing socks that are “ultra cushioned” and made from recycled materials that are “softer than butter,” according to its website.

“I get sent a lot of crap, and I usually give it to my cousins,” Davidson admitted. “I got sent Doublesoul a couple years ago, and I had to meet the team and I knew I wanted to be involved immediately.”

They asked for $500,000 in return for a 4 percent equity stake, and ultimately secured a deal with the show’s fashion shark, Kendra Scott, for a 10 percent equity stake at $500,000.

The company has continued to experience exponential growth, selling more than 1.5 million pairs of socks to date and projecting around $15 million in sales this year, according to Vanity Fair.

On April 22, the brand will launch a new line of socks, Babysoul, made for infants and newborns.

Davidson, who welcomed his daughter in December 2025, spoke last month about the “primal” instincts that kicked in after becoming a father.

“It’s funny. It’s like I didn’t understand this. You’re just ready to fight anyone. It’s really funny,” he said to People in March. “It’s like, chill out. No one’s doing anything to your kid… But you have this overly protective like…if one paparazzi guy pops out I’m going to f***ing beat the living s*** out of him. So that’s a weird gear because I’m not a fighter guy.

“But you develop this like, ‘Is that person looking at my baby? What are you looking at?’ You’re very, very hyper aware,” Davidson explained. “But I guess that goes back to caveman times, you know? It’s very…what do they say? It’s like primal?”
