Darts ace James Wade has revealed that he will play the sport for another seven years at the most before calling time on his career.
The 42-year-old is due to get his World Championship campaign up and running next Wednesday when he takes on Ryusei Azemoto at Ally Pally.
“If I wanted to, I think I’ve got probably a long time,” Wade told talkSPORT. “But I don’t know, maybe four to seven years? About that, roughly, between four and seven years I would say.
“It’s not meant in a disrespectful way, it’s really not, I don’t want to be like Peter Wright at 55, 56 still playing darts. He must really, genuinely love the game because he’s got grandchildren, children.
“I think at that age if hopefully I’m still here, I want to be supporting my boys and helping them walk their steps in life.”
