Judd Trump can become only the fourth snooker player ever to defend the UK Championship crown when he faces Mark Selby in today’s final. The reigning champion and world No.1 is bidding to continue his record of winning a trophy every single year which he has maintained since 2013. But he faces an in-form Selby in York today.
While Trump saw off Neil Robertson 6-3, Selby, 42, got the better of Shaun Murphy by the scoreline. Selby has won this tournament twice but not since 2016, with 36-year-old Trump also a two-time champion. These two have played 42 times together with Trump winning 23 times, the pair having won a final apiece after meeting in showpiece matches at the 2025 Champion of Champions and 2011 China Open.
