Tadej Pogacar crashes at Tour de France as world champion slides into curb

Reigning Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar was involved in a nasty crash during the latest stage of the 2025 race. After a rest day, the Tour resumed today with Ireland’s Ben Healy wearing the yellow jersey.

Pogacar started the latest stage in Toulouse 29 seconds off the leader. In a bid to keep pace with the front runners, Pogacar attempted to break out of the chasing pack. However, he then dramatically fell to his left and was dragged along the road until he made contact with the curb.

Pogacar, 26, quickly got back onto his bike and tried to recover. However, at the time, there were only six kilometres of the 156.8km stage left, giving him little time to make up the ground.

As a result, he could only labour to 35th overall in Stage 11. Healy could only increase his lead on him by three seconds, though, with the three-time winner now just 29 seconds off the pace.

Pogacar’s tumble overshadowed Jonas Abrahamsen claiming the first Grand Tour stage win of his career. It was also the first Tour de France victory for Norwegian team Uno-X Mobility.

He narrowly held off Mauro Schmid to take victory, with Mathieu van der Poel crossing seven seconds later in third.
