Man Utd suffer Gyokeres blow, Arsenal agree deal, Guehi to Liverpool

Brentford sporting director Phil Giles has claimed that Bryan Mbeumo is happy to stay if Manchester United can’t strike a deal this summer.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Giles strongly suggested that Mbeumo wanted to join United and that Brentford would sell if their demands were met.

But the Red Devils have had two bids rejected, the latest worth £62.5m, and the Brentford chief insists Mbeumo could yet stay.

He said: “There is significant interest in Bryan. I think it has been documented and publicised about his current preference.

“I think from what I understand, he is also, if needs be, happy to stay at Brentford next year as well. So, listen, let’s see on that.

“I think our position is he had an unbelievable season last year. We expected interest in him. If that deal is right, there is a deal to do. If it is not, he will stay.”
