Glastonbury Festival 2025 is officially winding down, after US pop star Olivia Rodrigo headlined the Pyramid Stage on Sunday with a knockout set that featured a cameo from Robert Smith and possibly record-breaking screams from the crowd.
Rodrigo’s performance came after a Legends Slot appearance from Rod Stewart, who brought out guests Mick Hucknall, Ronnie Wood and Lulu.
At 22, Rodrigo is one of Glastonbury’s youngest solo headliners, following Billie Eilish who topped the bill when she was just 20 years old.
Headliner Neil Young closed Saturday night with a set that clashed with two other major stars: British alt-pop star Charli XCX, and Grammy-winning rapper Doechii.
The veteran rocker’s performance was livestreamed by the BBC, after Young made a U-turn having previously said he did not want his set to be aired. Other major performances so far have come from Pulp, Haim, Lorde, The 1975, RAYE and Irish pop singer CMAT.
Meanwhile police have said they are assessing videos of comments made by members of Bob Vylan and Kneecap on Saturday (28 June), to determine whether any offences may have been committed.
During Kneecap’s set on Saturday, band member Naoise O Caireallain, who performs under the name Moglai Bap, said: “The prime minister of your country, not mine, said he didn’t want us to play, so f*** Keir Starmer.”

Maccabees review, Park Stage – ★★★★★
“We never thought we’d be playing these songs again to anybody,” says Felix White as the reformed Maccabees make a long-wished-for and highly emotional return to Avalon.
It’s like no time has passed; they pile into “Latchmere”, “X-Ray” and “Precious Time” with every gigawatt of their formative electricity still pulsing, and return to headline status just as the febrile atmospherics of “No Kind Words” and “Pelican” become the alt-rock standard.
A celebratory night is capped by Florence Welch’s appearance for “Dog Days are Over”, but The Maccabees’ dog days might just have arrived.

Some shameless flirting with the Brits just now
“I love England so f***ing much,” Rodrigo declares.
“It’s bands like the Cure that first got me acquainted with England… I have so many things I love about England. I love pop, I love how nobody judges you for having a pint at noon, it’s the best. I love English sweets, all the sweets from M&S, Colin the Caterpillar specifically. True story: I have had three sticky toffee puddings since coming to Glastonbury. And as luck would have it, I love English boys.”
That’s right, she’s introducing “So American”. We love.
Bob Vylan: What to know about the rap duo at the centre of Glastonbury controversy

IT’S ROBERT SMITH!!!!
I don’t think I’ve had bigger FOMO than this moment right now, with Olivia Rodrigo bringing out The Cure’s Robert Smith to sing “Friday I’m in Love” AND “Just Like Heaven”. I love this, YES YES YES.
