Luke Littler insisted that he won’t be fist-bumping Michael van Gerwen after sets during the World Championship final.
Criticisms were levelled at the playful nature of the teen’s wins over Nathan Aspinall and Stephen Bunting, with the favourite joking around with his opponents as he cruised to victory.
But that won’t be the case against the three-time champion on tonight’s stage.
“Obviously, if we win a set, we are not going to fist-bump each other,” Littler explained.
“But that’s what I did with Stephen and Nathan. We are good friends… Me and Nathan after a set, we gave each other a fist-bump. Me and Stephen did the same.
“Me and Nathan and me and Stephen are really good mates. When we win a set, we do what we do. But as soon as the referee says ‘game on’ that is when it is game on.”
