Glastonbury 2024 live: Lineup today, set times, BBC stream and Coldplay headline show

Dua Lipa performs ‘Levitating’ during Glastonbury headline set

British pop star Dua Lipa was the first headliner of Glastonbury 2024, as she took to the Pyramid Stage on Friday night (28 June) at Worthy Farm.

Across the weekend, an eclectic lineup will perform on the sprawling festival’s various stages – but organiser Emily Eavis has poured water on any rumours of “big surprises”.

Coldplay will headline the Pyramid Stage tonight for a record-breaking fifth time, while other major sets come from The Last Dinner Party, Cyndi Lauper and Little Simz.

Here is the full Glastonbury 2024 lineup and set times.

Ahead of Dua Lipa’s performance, which was plagued with a broadcasting issue on the BBC, Sugababes’ set on the West Holts stage drew such huge crowds there were reports of fans fainting during their show, while security blocked others from entering in an attempt to reduce overcrowding.

If you’re following from home, the BBC has shared its schedule of coverage for the weekend.

Welcome back to The Independent’s Glastonbury liveblog

Hello hello! I’m back, after a bit of a kip, ready for another 10-hour Glastonbury shift. I’m currently tuned into The Last Dinner Party, who I’ve never got on with, but hey, some people like them, and that’s fine. I wondered if this set on the Other Stage might have swayed me but so far I’m still finding it very contrived. I get the appeal, mind, especially for anyone with a penchant for floaty dresses (usually me). It just leaves me cold.

What is getting me fired up is this fantastic comment by Adam on last night’s Dua Lipa set + Charli XCX’s tiny show at Levels, as he wonders whether Glasto might have missed a trick when it comes to our most pioneering pop girlies.

Professor Brian Cox reunites with D:Ream at to perform ‘Things Can Only Get Better’

Professor Brian Cox reunited with D:Ream to perform the iconic 1990s song “Things Can Only Get Better” at Glastonbury on Friday evening.

The song became the anthem to Tony Blair’s Labour government winning the general election in 1997.

BBC Breakfast asked Cox how it felt to reunite with the band after his performance. Cox said: “I haven’t done this song since 1997. That was off the scale, I think I remember it.

“My two ambitions growing up were Top of the Pops and Glastonbury.” Full story:

Damon Albarn appears to take swipe at Biden and Trump during surprise Glastonbury appearance

Addressing the audience, some of whom waved Palestine flags, Albarn told them to show how they felt about Palestine, amid Israel’s continued attacks on Gaza following the October 7 terror attack.

“Are you pro-Palestine?” he asked, to huge cheers. “Do you feel that’s an unfair war?”

He continued: “The importance of voting next week… now, I don’t blame you for being ambivalent about that but it’s still really important. And thirdly, maybe it’s time we stop putting octogenarians in control over the whole world.”
