Nottingham Forest are set to keep hold of Orel Mangala this winter as Napoli have pulled out of negotiations for the midfielder, Express Sport understands.

The two sides were unable to agree a fee for Mangala, who joined Forest in a £13million deal from Stuttgart in 2022.

The 25-year-old had been expected to make the Serie A move before Forest put the brakes on the deal.

Napoli have filled their midfield vacancy by signing Leander Dendoncker on loan from Aston Villa.

Mangala, a senior Belgian international, has scored once in 19 appearances for Forest this season.
