Ex-Chelsea star Timo Werner is on the cusp of joining Tottenham on loan this month, despite interest from Manchester United.
According to Sky Sports Germany, Tottenham are closing in on a six-month loan deal for Werner and negotiations are expected to be wrapped up by today.
The versatile forward is said to be willing to leave Leipzig’s training camp to put pen to paper in North London, and Spurs are hopeful of striking a deal imminently.
Conversations are ongoing about the ‘final details’ of the deal, with an option to make the loan move permanent still to be discussed between the two clubs. With United also monitoring the situation closely, it remains to be seen whether they are willing to table an offer of their own or simply allow one of their top targets to join a rival outfit.
