Casemiro has spent just over a year at United since his £70m move from Real Madrid. Sir Jim Ratcliffe did raise an issue with the deal for the Brazilian at the time and his arrival as a minority owner is expected to be confirmed in the near future.
United are hoping to strengthen Ten Hag’s squad once again in January as they hope to sign a centre-back, central midfielder and a striker in their bid to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
However, with the club wary of Financial Fair Play concerns, they may be forced to sell stars such as Casemiro, Varane, Martial and Sancho before they can spend again after splashing out in the summer on the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
