Mighty Hoopla 2022: Tickets, line-up and more ahead of Brockwell Park festival

W

ide Awake and City Splash kicked off London’s festival seasion with a bang last weekend, and things show no sign of letting up.

One of south London’s best parks will host one of the city’s favourite festivals this weekend, which is returning for its biggest ever edition.

Celebrating inclusivity, queer culture, pop music and more, Mighty Hoopla has always been a summer highlight since landing in 2016.

Here’s what you need to know.

When and where is Mighty Hoopla?

The two-day festival will take place on Friday June 3 and Saturday June 4. Gates will open at 12pm on each day, with a sound curfew of 10.45pm.

Who is on the Mighty Hoopla 2022 line-up? And what are the set times?

Festivals can make all sorts of different boasts about their line-ups — biggest names, exclusive bookings, huge reunions — but surely no other London event can claim to be quite as much as fun as Mighty Hoopla.

The broad focus is on pop and dance music, bringing together favourites of today and yesteryear, with no lack on LGBTQ+ flair.

Friday’s Main Stage is all about Nineties and Noughties pop, with Blue, Natalie Imbruglia, Anastacia and Steps as the headliners. Eurodance hero Cascada tops the bill on House of Love stage, while DJs Jayda G and Basement Jaxx are the biggest attractions over on the clubbing-focused The Bump.

Onto Saturday and the Main Stage has some acts-of-the-moment — Self Esteem and Jessie Ware among them — as well as some more established favourites, including Kate Nash, Macy Gray, Katy B and headliners Sugababes. Eighties star Kim Wilde is the top billing on House of Love, and the Pleasure Palace is a drag extravaganza, with appearances from Blu Hydrangea, The Vivienne (doing a Cher tribute, no less), and Tia Kofi teaming up with electropop act Little Boots.

Are there any Mighty Hoopla tickets left?

Yes, although at the last count, there were fewer than 500 left. General admission tickets for Friday are currently priced at £64.50, although you can shave £15 off the price if you buy a ticket that requires you to turn up before 2pm. On Saturday, that early-entry ticket is your only option, as general admission has sold out. Likewise, two-day passes have all been snapped up.
