‘Clitheroe’ looks a star turn at the seaside!

Sharesa ticks plenty of boxes and is favoured by conditions of an eight-runner Novice Stakes over six furlongs of Kempton polytrack tonight; Middleham-based ‘winning machine’ Mark Johnston is never shy of journeying thoroughbreds long distances and ‘winning brackets’ for this twice-raced Mehmas filly are absolutely vital for stud purposes.

Following an encouraging debut on Haydock turf last month Sharesa was journeyed to this Southern venue and, over course and distance, improved considerably when fourth (of 11!) to Dreaming, beaten just over a length; on my time-handicap a 7lbs improvement puts her right in the mix for one of three places, providing they all run. Unfortunately, and this is fact, bookmakers are still instigating late withdrawals intervention, thus compromising punters and saving the laying profession hundreds of thousands world-wide.

Amazing numbers play the English racing scene and if logged onto this column would benefit enormously but, eventually word will reach more serious backers; all in good time!.

Incidentally Sharesa hit the finishing line more than four lengths clear of the fifth!

Earlier Marco Botti’s Dubai Immo, debut neck second (of 11!) to Euraquilo over course and distance three weeks ago, is strongly-fancied to go one better under Neil Callan in a fourteen-runner Novice Stakes over seven furlongs on Newcastle tapeta; this is just a question of how good Archie Watson-trained newcomer Verona Star proves to be under Hollie Doyle, darling of the Ascot crowd on Trueshan last weekend.

A major job awaits the ‘pocket rocket’ and following shenanigans at the Berkshire course on his horses John Gosden will soon be looking for a high-profile experienced jockey; Frankie Dettori and Rav Havlin can’t last much longer and consistent ‘centurion’ Hollie was twenty-five last week!

This has been a wonderful year for ‘Les Girls’ and it could get even more intriguing; watch this space.

Running in tandem will be a ‘good to soft’ final 2021 fixture at Yarmouth where Clitheroe is way above median requirement for a fourteen-runner Fillies’ Novice Stakes over six furlongs; David Simcock has booked Jamie ‘job jockey’ Spencer!

Incidentally yet another odds-on chance Arsenal bit the dust when failing ti beat Crystal Palace, Monday; opposing them is both exciting and rewarding, best ‘system’ I’ve ever known!

Selections, Yarmouth, 1.55 Clitheroe; Newcastle, 2.15 Dubai Immo (e.w); Kempton, 7.00 Sharesa (e.w).
