Local staff at Care South at Home’s Somerset Home Care office in Crewkerne, are celebrating after scooping an array of awards at the company’s annual Star Awards ceremony, held on Tuesday 21st September 2021.
Now in its 12th year, the Star Awards recognise and reward individuals and teams from across the company for their outstanding achievements and excellent care provision. For the second year in a row, the event was held live over Zoom with Care South’s Chairman, Jane Stichbury, and Chief Executive, Simon Bird, hosting the event centrally and Trustees, Directors and Senior Managers joining each care home and care at home office in person to present awards and join in the post Zoom awards and celebrations.
The afternoon also celebrated those staff that were recognised as true Heart Ambassadors in line with Care South’s HEART values of Honesty, Excellence, Approach, Respect and Teamwork.
Care South at Home’s Crewkerne office was not only selected as the home care office of the year but it’s Manager, Sarah Broom was also presented with the award for Care South at Home’s Manager of the Year in recognition of constantly meeting her objectives, taking on a new satellite office in Dorchester covering West Dorset whilst still growing the Crewkerne business, and always looking after her team.
Martin Sheppard from the Crewkerne office was also presented with the award for Best Carer of the Year in recognition of his hard work and commitment.
Sarah Broom, Crewkerne’s Care South at Home Manager, commented: “We are very proud that the Crewkerne office has been selected as the Care South at Home office of the year. It’s been a busy time and the team has worked exceptionally hard and it’s fantastic to receive this recognition for them all. It’s also a real honour to have been nominated and to have won Care South at Home’s Manager of the Year – I am truly touched. A big thanks also to Martin for all his hard work this year. It’s great that he has been recognised as the Best Carer of the Year. Martin is an exceptional member of the Care South at Home team and his support is invaluable.”
