Sue Revell, the Activities Organiser at Care South’s Kenwith Castle care home near Bideford, has been busy baking up a storm of delicious cakes at the home to raise funds for Dementia UK. Sue’s cakes were certainly a hit all round and she raised £330 for the specialist dementia support charity.
The scrumptious cakes consisted of lemon drizzle, coffee, and chocolate in addition to cheese scones, cream teas and shortbread. The staff and residents at Kenwith Castle couldn’t resist ordering lots of the goodies which Sue delivered for everyone to enjoy.
Sue commented: “I had a wonderful time baking all of the cakes as it is something that I enjoy doing. Kenwith Castle provides a wonderful dementia care service and I know first-hand how it can really affect people, including some of our residents. I wanted to give something back to Dementia UK who are a lifeline helping families to live more positively with dementia in the present. The cakes went down a treat and I want to thank everyone who donated to such a worthy cause.”
