Studio Technician (Interior Architecture)

An opportunity has arisen to provide technical support to the university’s studio enviroments predominatly within the Interior Architecture subject area, but also supporting the wider community.

The role of Technician is to provide broad general technical support across the subject area, with varying deliverables to meet the demands of a range of courses and activities.

Working alongside a team of Technician Demonstrators, the Technician ensures the effective operation of Interior Architecture studios whilst providing software and equipment support and guidance to students, assist colleagues with inductions and workshops, and contribute to the preparation, building and dismantling of exhibitions.

As the ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate a depth of knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite along with Auto CAD software packages and making. An understanding of health and safety working practices is essential, as is the ability to effectively prioritise and work both as a member of a team and independently using your own initiative.

You will need to be flexible in your approach to the working day and environment as regular evening and weekend working is required on a rotational basis, which may be on or off the university’s main campus.

You must possess GCSE grade A-C, or equivalent, in English and Maths and a level 3 qualification in an Art and Design related subject. A degree qualification, or equivalent experience in an appropriate field, would be advantageous. It is also desirable that you will be in possession of a full UK/EU driving license.
