Lecturer in Criminology

About the role

We are looking for a talented Lecturer in Criminology to join our team, to support undergraduate teaching across programmes within the Sociology and Criminology Subject. The post holder will design and deliver teaching content across modules at Levels 4 to 6, as well as contributing to curriculum planning and development, and engaging in research or scholarly activity in Criminology.

About you

You will be able to teach criminology at all undergraduate levels and, ideally, have some experience of teaching at Masters level. You will have an undergraduate degree in criminology, or a closely related discipline, and a PhD (or be close to completion). You will be expected to contribute to activities such as recruitment events, building appropriate links with business and the community, and you will be involved in moderation and quality assurance processes. You will enjoy full access to staff development opportunities offered by the University.

Criminology is a popular course within the School of Sciences, and benefits from collaboration with various subjects within the school in particular Psychology. It is an ambitious, dynamic and diverse environment in which to develop your career. Within the Subject, alongside single honours BSc programmes in both Sociology and Criminology, there are a number of combined honours courses for example Criminology combined with Sociology, Psychology, or Law.
