Expected Start Date: 05/01/2022

The role

We are seeking to recruit an individual to act as Fieldworker for the ACTIVE-6 Project. This role is central to the success of this NIHR Public Health Research Scheme observational study. The study uses an existing dataset from a previous project (B-Proact1V) as a baseline and aims to collect new data from children in the same schools that took part in the baseline study to examine changes in the physical activity patterns of Year 6 children and their parents since the COVID pandemic.

What will you be doing?

The main tasks for the fieldworker will be to collect physical activity, questionnaire and biometric measures data from Year 6 children at local primary schools. The Fieldworker will also be expected to help recruit participants, enter data into study databases, uphold excellent relationships with key external staff, and assist in other research-related tasks.  The Fieldworker will work as part of a team of researchers, including the Project Manager (who will line manage them), a qualitative research associate, a study statistician and the project’s Principal Investigator (PI:Prof. Russ Jago), guided by a broader study management group made up of co-applicants for the study grant.

You should apply if

have a background in physical activity assessment and/or experience of collecting data in school-based settings. A degree in a related area or equivalent experience in physical activity research or a related field, and an understanding of research methodologies are essential.
