Department Coordinator (Fixed Term)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and inventive individual to join our busy team. You will play a vital role, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department office and providing advice, support and information.

Key elements of the role include providing administrative and operational support to the Head of Department with the responsibility for co-ordinating core Department activities including HR and finance matters and providing full secretarial support for a number of department committees.

This varied and exciting post also includes co-ordinating recruitment and staff induction activity, support for Faculty based teams, departmental events, enquiry management, overview and allocation of Departmental space and management of operational relationships with Professional Services colleagues across the University. 

You will need to be able to communicate persuasively and tactfully with colleagues, with an approachable and friendly style but with the willingness to challenge people and situations when vital. You will also have excellent organisational skills, demonstrate a good use of initiative and have the ability to multi-task and prioritise a high workload.

This is a full time (36.5 hours) fixed term role until July 2022, covering maternity leave of the current post holder. We welcome applications from existing staff who are looking for a secondment opportunity.
