Student Information Desk Advisor

This full time post is available immediately on a 12 month fixed term basis.

Summary of the role

We are currently seeking a full time Student Information Desk Advisor on a 12 month fixed term contract to join our team on our Exeter campuses.

In collaboration with the academic Colleges, the Education and Student Support (ESS) Directorate provides all of the key administration and education support activities that underpin the student experience from Freshers’ Week to Graduation. Service divisions within ESS include Library and Culture Services, Teaching Quality Assurance and Enhancement, Student Employability and Academic Success, Student Wellbeing and Welfare, and Education Services. This role sits within the Education Services area of responsibility comprising approximately 220 staff.

All teams within Education Services are asked to work collaboratively and innovatively as “one team” across wide-ranging but interdependent operational delivery remits for which excellent customer service relies on all areas of responsibility to work together and ensure an excellent staff and student experience. Education Services teams include Timetabling, Examinations, Student Records, the Student Information Desk (SID), Community Liaison, International Transition, Education Support teams, and Graduation Services.

This role is within the Student Information Desk team which provides front line support to students on a wide range of subjects including IT, Student Records, Accommodation and AccessAbility.

The post offers an exciting opportunity for highly-motivated individuals with a keen interest in providing excellent customer service to students in all matters relating to non-academic support at all levels. We are looking for individuals who can work towards continuously improving the student and academic experience across the student life cycle.

You will be expected to provide front line support and act as a first/named point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. You will work effectively and flexibly within a wider administrative team in a busy environment to deliver an excellent, customer focussed and seamless service. You will be part of a high profile service that is critical to the delivery of the best student experience by one of the UKs most ambitious universities.

The role requires a flexible individual with strong communication skills, administrative experience in Higher Education, such as SITS or BART, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a diverse work load.
