Dental Clinical Skills Assistant

The role

As a key contact within the Clinical Skills Laboratory (CSL), you will facilitate undergraduate and postgraduate education, along with supporting external training courses.

What will you be doing?

Clinical Skills teaching performs a core part of the dental curriculum and prepares students for clinical practice within the University of Bristol Dental Hospital. You will play an integral part of a well organised team and be involved in the day to day running of the Clinical Skills Laboratory. This will include preparing models and material for teaching, assisting in the delivery of some aspects of teaching, and helping facilitate the transition of students onto patient clinics. You will work closely and flexibly with other members of the CSL, sharing the responsibility for the delivery of the CSL teaching.

You should apply if

We are seeking an outstanding and highly organised individual to join our teaching team. As a qualified dental nurse (and registered with the General Dental Council), you will work alongside Dentists, Therapist, Hygienists and dental nurses to train the next generation of the dental team.

The post is offered full time on a term-time contract (this is 43 weeks in line with the Bristol Dental School’s academic term time). A term time contract means that you will be paid additionally for the leave that you accrue over the 43 weeks you work, and will not work over the remainder of the year, during student holidays in Christmas, Easter and most of Summer.
