The Department of Estates is a large, diverse and busy department covering the development, maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and estate. Part of this maintenance includes ensuring that the University’s buildings and work practices and fully compliant with safety regulations.
The role is varied and we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our small Compliance Team on a full time basis. This is a responsible position that will suit an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment. The post is challenging and involves dealing with a wide range of matters in support of the various functions of the Department of Estates but with the emphasis on compliance and data entry.
You will need to be well organised, with a strong administrative background and experience of working as part of a team in a busy office environment. You should possess excellent customer service and communication skills, with a common sense approach to problem solving. You will need initiative and good judgement. The ability to constantly re-prioritise work load in a reactive environment is a must. An understanding of health and safety would be an advantage although all necessary training will be provided.
A high proficiency in Microsoft packages including Word and Excel is required. Training will be given in use of University specific software (Archibus, Agresso).
