Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Music Therapy

Music Therapy at UWE Bristol is currently located in the interdisciplinary Department of Health and Social Sciences and is due to move shortly to the new School of Health and Social Wellbeing. We offer an MA Music Therapy programme approved by the HCPC and a suite of CPD modules. We have a strong emphasis on the application of academic understanding to contemporary music therapy practice. 

About you: This post is a permanent 0.4 FTE contract to deliver modules within the MA Music Therapy and associated CPD modules. Extensive clinical experience in working with adults using music therapy is desirable and specific experience with children and families is essential. Experience of education in respect of Practice Learning will be desirable for this post as will extensive and broad experience of clinical practice. Working effectively with colleagues, you will be expected to contribute to a learning environment where students have the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to attain the career to which they aspire and to carry out complementary research, knowledge exchange and professional practice.

Glenside: This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre. Regular bus services connect the campus to the main Frenchay site, the city centre and surrounding areas, and nearby Bristol Parkway train station. Home to UWE’s Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences, Glenside Campus offers excellent teaching facilities, these include a selection of inter-professional simulation suites, enabling students to practice and develop professional competencies, and one of the best health care libraries in England.
