Senior Lecturer in Business Development and Marketing

About the role:

The Marketing Events & Tourism (MET) subject group sits within the Department of Business and Management and are seeking someone who can contribute fully to departmental activities, including teaching, research and external engagement.

The focus of this role is to deliver outstanding learning outcomes for our students though exceptional teaching and learning on academic programmes within the department and also to engage in knowledge exchange, research or other activities that enhance and inform teaching design and curriculum development.

We deliver an innovative practice-led curriculum at UWE Bristol and have a range of well-established stakeholder engagement activities regionally, nationally and internationally.

About you:

Candidates should hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, and be committed to teaching and research. The post holder will join a vibrant and growing Marketing & Events team comprising 42 academic members of staff, and will be expected to make a significant contribution to teaching activities of the group at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The nature of the subject group’s teaching means that candidates should be confident, outgoing and comfortable working as part of a teaching team on large modules as well as independently on specialist Marketing modules. We particularly welcome applicants with industry experience or proven ability to teach and lead in the areas of business development (both overseas and in the UK), sales and key account management, and B2B and/or B2C marketing. Knowledge and experience of digital approaches would be desirable both from pedagogic and practical industry perspectives.
